Scheduler

Scheduler SettingsThe scheduler is a description of the required actions and events, triggered without direct user action. The incredibly flexible scheduler allows you to program any event by time – from a simple single run to national holidays (and even Easter, each year falling on a different date) with a time shift. Activity ranges of the scheduler are available, as well as cyclic recurrences and exceptions. The object Calendar allows collecting a list of dates logically related to each other. In this case, the scheduler takes time zones into account and has a deadline for the execution of actions in which one can run reports, copy items, send email messages as information for users about the events and even run nested schedulers. Actions can be created within a single scheduler and consistently executed without any user intervention.

Chains of Issues

It is not a simple task to find a way to transform complex numbers from millions of cells in the database into a colorful chart embedded in an electronic document and stored on the cloud service. To do this, you should connect to the database, import the information from it into the required format, process the data, convert to the report using the template prepared before, export the report to the necessary format and upload it to the cloud storage. In order not to do these steps manually, Stimulsoft BI Server supports the data processing chain. Once such a chain is created and setting a schedule to it, you can save time and forget all about boring operations. Just use the finished result, and the system will take care of its creation.

Creating Reports and Dashboards

To build reports and dashboards, the Stimulsoft BI Server system uses Stimulsoft Reports, which provides the necessary functionality for creating report templates, and Stimulsoft Dashboards, which contains everything you need to work with analytics panels. You can create both simple reports on several pages and complex ones with rich graphics and nested structures, multi-page documents, and clear interactive dashboards. Various charts, cross-tabs, barcodes, geometric primitives, and various formatting tools are supported to design informative reports and stunning dashboards.

For creating and modifying report templates, each type of client application uses its built-in designer that is not different from other parts of the program. It is easy to use and does not require running additional applications.

Use it with Stimulsoft products

Design DashboardAn essential advantage of Stimulsoft BI Server for users of Stimulsoft products is full compatibility with the already created and dashboards – on the server. You can use the reports created using Stimulsoft Reports, and vice versa – use the reports designed in Stimulsoft Server, in applications that use reporting tool Stimulsoft Reports.

Big Reports

Another useful feature of the Stimulsoft BI Server analytical system is support for documents with many pages. Building compact reports and dashboards in a few pages with the most important data is as simple as generating volumes of archival reports in thousands of pages. The report size can be limited only with the performance of your servers.

Various Input Data

Our reports and dashboards server can handle multiple types of data. The product supports more than 15 types of data servers - MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Firebird, and others. Stimulsoft Server support for ADO.NET objects, the OData protocol, the ability to load data from XML, JSON, Excel and CSV files, work with business objects.

Export by Own Resources

ExportsThe Adobe PDF format has long been a standard "de facto" for corporate documentation. Stimulsoft BI Server supports the export of reports to PDF using its options without the use of the third party licensed components that allows you to create PDF documents without any royalties or restrictions. Export to MS Office Word and Excel is also implemented internally and does not require the office suite installed on the client machine.

And, of course, Stimulsoft Server provides exporting data (with lots of options) to popular formats such as HTML, Text, RichText, CSV, DBF, XML, DIF, SYLK, BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PNG, TIFF, EMF, SVG, SVGZ.

API for Different Platforms

Stimulsoft BI Server has an API (Application Programming Interface) that allows developers for various platforms to integrate data processing functions on the server into their applications.

Programmers can develop their applications by embedding data processing functions on the reports and dashboards server into them. For example, they can write a program in JavaScript or PHP that will generate a report from a template on the server and show it to the user on the screen. All the commands for working with the API can be found on the documentation page.
